Academic Support
Throughout high school, you may find that you need some extra support to succeed in your academic classes. The following list outlines some of the academic support services offered through Westview.
Wolverine Tutoring
Various tutoring options are available on campus in a variety of subject areas. Tutoring is held in the library from 3:45 - 5:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We also offer one-on-one tutoring. Students can use our One-on-One Tutoring Request 24-25 to request this service. Please share this information with your students that need additional support.
We are also looking for more tutors. If you have students who are willing to volunteer their time and skills, please have them complete our Wolverine Tutor Survey 24-25.
Wolverine Time
Wolverine Time occurs several times throughout the week during the school day. During this time, students have the opportunity to meet with their instructors regarding questions or concerns. Teachers may also choose to assign Wolverine Time for academic assistance. Contact your student's teacher for more information.
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)
AVID is a college preparatory program for students who are academically "in the middle" who meet two of the following qualifiers: low socio-economic status, first generation college, and/or between a 2.5-3.5 grade point average, exhibiting potential to attain acceptance to a four year university.

Academic Success
The mission of the Academic Success class is to effectively reconnect our kids to the student experience. We hope to do so through building trust, setting expectations and continually providing them with the support they need. Students in Academic Success will learn the basic skills of organization and effective decision making as well as work on Basic Literacy Skills. Completing coursework and studying for current classes are among the students responsibilities. Through these measures we expect our students will achieve success.
