Welcome Week Announcement

Welcome Wolverine Community,

We hope this message finds you enjoying a relaxing and healthy summer.  In preparation for the 2024/2025 school year, we are excited to host our Wolverine Welcome Week, August 12-15. This message serves as a “save the date” with assigned dates and times for each grade outlined below. Specific details and more information will be shared as we get closer to the event.

During Welcome Week, all students receive their course lists and have their photo taken for their school ID. New students and freshmen will receive their Chromebooks and a school planner. Welcome Week is also a time when students can purchase items from the student store, pick up parking passes, and any WHS clothing (e.g. PE attire, ASB Spirit Pack, Class Shirts, etc.).

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend! We believe that fostering a strong partnership with our families is critical to your child’s success at Westview. Please click on this link to inform us of what you need for your student to be successful while at Westview. On Thursday, August 15, Freshmen and their families will experience the “Spirit of Westview”; tours, activities and information sessions ongoing throughout the day. For our upperclassmen and their families, we will be offering orientation by grade level. Times and dates are listed below. At this time, there is no need to RSVP.

Please note, all students are asked to attend Welcome Week on their assigned date and time in order for us to manage volume and avoid long lines. However, we understand that there may be extenuating circumstances which will prevent participation on assigned days and times. Students who cannot make their scheduled day can come the following day. If you have students in different grade levels and prefer to only attend one day, please come on the later date (otherwise, course lists etc. will not be available). Students who cannot make their assigned time (due to band camp, athletic practice etc.) can come earlier or later on their assigned day. Students who are not able to make Welcome Week at all will need to wait until the first day of school in order to receive their schedule and textbooks. They should attend one of our make-up photo days at the end of August.

This event is not possible without the support of parent volunteers. If you are interested in supporting our PTSA by volunteering your time, please click here. To show appreciation for volunteering your time, your student will be allowed front of the line privileges at the start of their assigned day. If you are interested in supplying snacks and water for our parent and student volunteers, please click here
